We spent the night last night at Brackenhurst Baptist Assembly Ground in Limuru, Kenya which is about 30 miles from Nairobi. We had a wonderful day trying to get our bodies acclimated and hopefully our sleep cycles are on Africa time now. Our team member flying in over night from Amsterdam arrived first thing this morning safely. After breakfast, we had a devotional time together and we will continue doing this each day we are in Kenya with each team member having a turn to lead the morning devotion. The meals have been very good here at Brackenhurst and we have enjoyed our stay. Three more of our African team members arrived this evening and we had a briefing on the city of Kisumu and what to expect. We will be leaving sharply at 8 AM to travel there by bus or van. It will be a very long travel day and it should take a total of 8 - 10 hours. Everyone is very excited to get started and in great moods. Thank you all for your continued prayers for us. God is being very gracious to us as we lift up the might name of Jesus wherever we go. That’s all for now. God bless you.

After a long flight, we are finally here in Nairobi, Kenya! There was a little confusion with one of our team members ticket but through prayer and God’s provision we were able to get it worked out. Tomorrow we will rest and get acclimated to the time change. One of our team members is still in flight and should be in to Nairobi in the morning from Amsterdam. God has shown us great favor so far and we are excited to see what each day brings. Time for some long awaited rest (in a bed)!

Well, we had our first team meeting with the people on our team from Montgomery this past Sunday. It was a great meeting and everyone seemed very excited. We introduced everyone here in Montgomery, went over prayer needs, logistical information for the flight over and discussed some helpful fund raising ideas for the team members that are still raising their funds. I have posted some photos of the Montgomery team members. There were a couple of people missing from the photo but we are looking forward to them joining us in our 2 upcoming training meetings before we leave for Kisumu.

Kenya lies across the equator on the east of the African continent. Neighboring countries include Ethiopia to the north, Somalia to the east, Tanzania to the south, Uganda to the west and Sudan to the north west. Kisumu is a port city in western Kenya which overlooks part of Lake Victoria.

Click on the pictures below to get a better idea. I hope this helps.
